The company sells its cars beneath the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands with in-house performance tuning products labelled Nismo. In February 2017 Ghosn announced although step down as CEO of Nissan on 1 April 2017, while remaining chairman on the company.In 2013, Nissan was the sixth largest automaker on this planet, after Toyota, General Motors, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai Motor Group, and Ford. Taken together, the Renault–Nissan Alliance will be the world’s fourth largest automaker. Nissan may be the leading Japanese brand in China, Russia and Mexico.In 2014 Nissan was the most important car manufacturer in North America.Nissan could be the world's largest electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, with global sales of greater than 320,000 all-electric vehicles since April 2018. The top-selling vehicle on the carmaker's lineup will be the Nissan LEAF, an all-electric car as well as the world's top-selling highway-capable plug-in electric car in the past.In January 2018, Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa announced that most Infiniti vehicles launched from 2021 are going to be hybrid vehicles or all-electric vehicles.
